When you sense that God has spoken to you through a dream, it is important to write it down immediately. God always speaks with a purpose.
The Lord spoke to me in a dream. He said.
“Job was a very surrendered person.”
When I awakened I knew that God was trying to get my attention. When God speaks to me I usually study scripture to understand fully what He is trying to tell me. As I studied the book of Job I discovered that in the midst of losing his family, his wealth, and his friends, Job still sought after God and surrendered to the hand of God. When everything that he loved was taken from him he remained surrendered to God. Even after his friends forsook him and accused him, he continued to surrender to God’s command to pray for them so that they would be forgiven. Job lost a lot but God continued to pour out His blessings on His life….the Lord blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning. Job 42:12
When you are in the midst of trials are you surrendered to God? Blessings come from a surrendered life.
The Lord then spoke to my heart again, so I wrote it in my journal. This is what I sensed Him saying,
“Surrender is an attitude of the heart. No matter what may come, keep your heart surrendered to My hand. No matter what others may say, hear My voice and surrender. You see Job knew His Lord. That came from years of walking with God. He did not listen to his friends. Their voices were the voices of strangers. You must surrender and trust Me with your life in prosperity and in famine, in sickness and in health and in loss or gain. Trust me. Do not fear the future; always remain surrendered to Me. I want you to start thanking and praising Me in the midst of trials. Trust Me.”
I had no idea that trials were about to present themselves. Two months later, In January of 2001 heavy trials surrounded me. My husband became ill, he could not work and it would have been very easy to worry about the future. But God gave me a word, warning me and encouraging me even before it occurred.
Because I wrote God’s word in my journal, I could see His hand, and I was reminded often that He was with me. It was a very difficult trial, but we made it through. We are still married and serving the Lord!
When difficult times come it is easy to give up. Rather than giving up, give in to God and you will be blessed.
When God speaks to you, record it and don’t forget to enter the date.

Debra,
Thanks for your encouraging words . . . it is true trials come and test the extent of our trust, which is directly related to how much we surrender. When things get tough, tight, unpredictable – our response shows our heart. You are right, there hasn’t been one time when I felt I was on the ledge and put my trust in God and not me that He hasn’t been faithful – I look back on those trials as a cherished memory because they brought me closer to Him.

Rachel,
Thank you for your comment. When I think back to all that He has done in my life over the years, I am in awe. It makes me wonder why we ever fear.
God is so amazing, how He warns, prepares us and come through for us.
Isn’t it exciting to walk with Him!
Debra
