Let’s read Psalm 1:1 – 3 (VOICE)
1 God’s blessings follow you and await you at every turn:
when you don’t follow the advice of those who delight in wicked schemes,
When you avoid sin’s highway, when judgment and sarcasm beckon you, but you refuse.
2 For you, the Eternal’s Word is your happiness.
It is your focus—from dusk to dawn.
3 You are like a tree,
planted by flowing, cool streams of water that never run dry.
Your fruit ripens in its time;
your leaves never fade or curl in the summer sun.
No matter what you do, you prosper.
The above verses say that God’s blessings will follow you and await you at every turn when you:
- Don’t follow the advice of those who delight in wicked schemes
- Avoid sin’s highway
- Refuse to enter into judgment and sarcasm about other people
- Make the Word of God your focus from dusk to dawn.
Not only will God’s blessings follow you and await you at every turn but:
Close your eyes right now and picture this … imagine that …you are just like a tree …planted by flowing, cool streams of water … that never run dry… your fruit IS ripening in its time. (That means the seeds you have planted will bear fruit and WILL ripen in its time!) Your leaves, are green and will never fade or curl in the summer sun. And no matter what you do, you are prospering.
WOW! His blessings are being poured out over you right now! Let’s clear our hearts of anything that might block those blessings from our lives.
Pray with me: Father, I surrender. I am Yours, Lord God. I receive Your Grace to turn from the advice of those who devise wicked schemes, and I receive Your Grace to avoid sin’s highway at all costs. I choose to not speak words of judgment and sarcasm against other people and I guard my heart from thoughts of judgment and sarcasm against them. Instead, I choose to speak refreshing words of love and blessings over their lives. I focus on Your Word from dusk to dawn. I receive Your Blessings, in Jesus Name.
Prayer for you: Father, hear the heart cry of your people. Your Word says we are blessed! We are the head and not the tail. Release Your blessings on Your people at every turn; let Your blessings follow Your people. Pour out Your Spirit — rivers of living water. Give each person who prayed this prayer the power to say no to sin’s highway, and to those things that block your blessings from flowing. Your Word says that You will let your blessings flow on our children and our grandchildren as well. We receive, in Jesus Name, Amen
